Yesterday (Monday the 11th), we visited the Capitol hoping to change minds of representatives who didn't agree with the House Bill 1033. If the bill was passed teacher pay raise would incerease $5,000, inorder to raise the pay, taxes would have to increase. A few taxes for example were $1.50 would be added per pack of cigarettes; 6 cents would be added per gallon of gas, and raised taxes on oil wells 3%. We each held a sign saying "I represent (teacher's name)". The bill didn't pass but we did our best, we went up stairs and enjoyed pizza, then made the drive back home.
